"Biological people" was always where this eugenicist rhetoric was headed - ie "biological women", "biological pronouns" - because they genuinely don't believe trans people are even human. This dehumanizing language is essential for them to paint trans people as genetically incompatible with society.

You can't separate this from the Atlantic article claiming their are too many students with disabilities. It's a moral panic meant to push out young people with disabilities from access to resources and to reify ableist bigotry. It's exactly what they did to trans people.

Giving bullies your lunch money means they will come for your lunch money tomorrow. If you make them fight for it today, even if they get it, they may decide tomorrow that it's more trouble than it's worth to mess with you. But if you always back down ... then you always will.
"Respectful and understanding" - perhaps they were. I'm not. I don't think any of us should be. I think orgs that do this need to pay a heavy price for doing it. They're afraid of the power transphobes have: and so we must endeavour to build power of our own and to wield it uncompromisingly.
This part is *infuriating*. This cis woman heard an 80 year old trans woman say, 'This is the only place I've been respected as a woman IN MY LIFE.'
