My own version of being a “currency crank” is that I think currency, religion, authority, and language all arise from the deepest parts of the “social fabric”, far beyond commerce or technology, and that we are letting Tech People meddle around in the primeval forces to our greatest social peril.

I 100% do not believe in ghosts but I felt a ghost at Gettysburg. (I worked in a historical home that reportedly had at least three ghosts and never saw one there, though.

I cannot overemphasize that Marjorie Taylor Greene, Carlson, and Fuentes see a 2028 path to victory that involves building an isolationist populist coalition that traffics heavily in antisemitism and exploits existing negative sentiment against Israel.
