If you're gonna claim something is in the Epstein Files I'd better see a screenshot, an exact quote, and a citation on where I can find it to replicate what you're looking at, thank you.

it's important to always remember that gatekeeping is a buzzword more than anything else really. There's virtually no way to actually do it

Yesterday was Frank Miller's birthday.
There's plenty of criticism towards him I do get and agree with. But don't kid yourself into thinking he's probably the most important American creator in the medium since Kirby and Eisner

Those stories are pretty obnoxious, but it’s not really the death of society
Monster romances have taken the world by storm, but a number of grifters point to them as proof of our society's collapse.

Are they right?

i remember when all the shit came out about neil gaiman there was a major movement to say that none of his work was any good anyway and no i’m sorry it was good, he is a horrible man who made legitimately good work and i feel bad about liking it and you can too
one thing that would be cool, when prominent creators turn out to be terrible people, would be if we didn't have to go through this performative dance of insisting that their work was never good in the first place.

I feel that separating yourself from a creator’s works after said creator is unmasked as a terrible person is valid. I just find it disingenuous when people claim to have “never” liking it. 9 out of 10 times someone says that, they’re trying to score brownie points.

Some of the greatest artists who ever lived were terrible people and influenced millions, if not billions, of people.

That’s just an inconvenient truth.

While I am firmly in the camp that the duel we got is a little awkward and stilted, especially compared to the duels in ESB and ROTJ, I completely agree that the famous fan edit WILDLY overcorrects and the fight loses the narrative weight it was supposed to have
Not to sound like a nerd but it bugs me whenever I see people say that the Obi-Wan and Darth Vader duel in the original Star Wars is too lame and slow and should be more intense or flashy like the prequels. It’s not supposed to be a long epic scene! It’s tense! They’re testing each other!

I do that enough at home. why would I want a football game?
I enjoyed the Super Bowl halftime show but it would be nice if next year the halftime show was a plain black screen for fifteen minutes, giving football fans a quiet moment to contemplate their own mortality
