I just really like theater. And sometimes I think I’m really funny. Always down for chaos and a Great Adventure (Kimberly Akimbo style).
This is maybe the funniest article I've read in years. If I'm ever famous enough to write a memoir, the chapter on my time here will be one for the ages.

Me: A trip to Greece is on my list.

Dad: Just so you know, whenever you do go to Greece, it’s not actually a musical about kids in high school doing the hand hive.

Me: I know. It’s a musical about a young girl trying to figure out which of these 3 men is her father, and then a MILF belts.

Scene.

Not a musical (though it did have the best megamix curtain call) but I remember talking about POTUS with @clberner.bsky.social & @kevinddaly.bsky.social and all of us being convinced it was going to girlboss way too close to the sun. Cut to seeing it multiple times!
musical theater parlor game

Please name one (1) stage musical, original or adaptation, you absolutely adore that, when you first heard about it, your immediate thought was "Oh, god, what a dreadful idea."

(Feel free to go beyond Broadway and the West End.)

You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you.

Who's coming to save you?

They’ll save me and then they’ll kiss.

USA is showing one of her SVU episodes right now. It’s not the first thing that comes to mind when I think of her glorious presence and career but it’s always such a treat to see her.

The proper way to watch

What Berto said (re: Marjorie Prinme) Also to see June Squibb, Danny Burstein, and Cynthia Nixon all onstage together and at the top of their game is something special. Oh and Chris Lowell also excellent and still as hot as his Private Practice days.
I went in knowing very little about the plot & yet it still surprised tf out of me. A fascinating & deeply emotional play.

I’ve remained somewhat numb to protect myself from the heartache of the last few days, but Ragtime cracked me open. I love that show, I hate how hard it is to watch, and as scared as I am it makes me want to proudly display my Judaism and everything that makes me “other.” This is what art can do.

You haven’t lived until you’ve sat next to THE Kevin Daly at The Bridges of Madison County reunion at Carnegie Hall.

It’s me. I sat next to him. But I also haven’t lived because tonight destroyed me!!!!

Last minute show offer! I have a TDF ticket for tonights 7pm performance of Oedipus but I'm in too much pain from this bad weather to make it work, so I'm happy to sell it to someone else who wants to go!

If we can’t have Cole Escola on a flamingo then we should get everyone who has played Mary Todd on a float with horses.

Hadn’t seen a Broadway show in months thanks to there being nothing good in the summer and then breaking my legs, so coming back at it with Oh, Jane! was absolute perfection.

Seeing the new production of Spelling Bee warmed my heart in ways I can't even begin to describe. It's truly a perfect show.

But also, can I request that this production bring back the Adults Only performances?!?
