Learning that Bette Midler and Mary Martin share a birthday makes me wonder if other famous Dolly Levis were also born on December 1.

29 years into the run and Chicago cast announcements are still met with indignant "stunt casting!" replies on Facebook. God bless.

I’m listened to the excellent TCM podcast “The Plot Thickens,” specifically the season about the making of Cleopatra (1963). The discussions of whether to release it as one four-hour movie va two three-hour movies might have been instructive to the makers of Wicked.

If you’re out shopping for Black Friday deals today, remember: it’s a time of great stress and pressure for workers who don’t get to spend the day with their family and friends, and often work long shifts.

Be kind, and take a moment to thank a retail worker.

It’s wild that in 1992, the Tony Awards bowdlerized the word “lesbians” but let “homo” remain in the excerpt from Falsettos. youtu.be/ZpzbuoLcDbk?...

Stephen Schwartz is talking about a Wicked follow-up in the exact same way Richard O'Brien once spoke of Shock Treatment. theankler.com/p/more-oz-wi...

This, incidentally, is what too many of my friends' Letterboxd reviews of musical comedies from the 1930s sound like.
I find it difficult to watch the Muppets. Kermit is a domestic abuse victim and everyone is cool with it?!

The problem with the ending of Wicked: For Good is that it cuts off the clear pathway to sequels that previous iterations of Oz knew were a sure thing: pairing the Scarecrow and Tin Woodman as a vaudeville comedy act.

The leftism leaving people's bodies like cartoon ghosts when people say "artists need to be paid" and "don't steal books."
i have never wanted to make a YouTube video before, but now i want to make one that's basically: Books Are Not Free Content For You, Stop Stealing From Authors, You Scabs.

we are not the enemy.
every dollar folks think they're taking from Amazon, they're taking from authors more.

Somehow I missed that after "Out of Oz," Maguire wrote a whole spin-off trilogy about the further adventures of Rain.

Is it any good?

Weird Al (opening for The Monkees)
Who was the best opening act you've seen live?

For her next act, Ariana should take a page from the Diana Ross playbook and record all the songs from Wicked whether Glinda sang them or not.

otherwise.
