I invented the scroll lock key, directed the hit film Princess Mononoke and played Scotty in the original Star Trek.
I'm also one of them there streamists! https://www.twitch.tv/alastairft

The irony is that in getting banned from the two biggest storefronts, Horses is getting more publicity than it ever could have hoped for.
Instead of selling about four copies, it'll sell AT LEAST nine.

The Switch 2 is a neat device, but I sigh looking at the chunky bevel, knowing without a doubt that they deliberately made it that way so they could release an OLED model later on and act like it was some great technological quantum leap.

I still can't believe Sony sold K-Pop Demon Hunters to Netflix thinking it would be a flop, but are betting that basketball movie with a goat is going to be a huge hit in cinemas.

Word is that Hayao Miyazaki's next film is going to draw heavily on Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom

When Sakurai was a boy, his parents were killed in a dark alleyway by a UI designer, and ever since he's sough vengeance by giving every game a menu system like someone performed a touchdown with a plate of bolognese.

Something I noticed about a lot of the most popular sci-fi creatures is just how reasuringly uninspired their names are. Sandworms; headcrabs; facehuggers. If you can't think of a punchy proper noun, just calling them what they literally are or do is fine.

The biggest problem with Dispatch, which I otherwise loved, is that it pushes you too hard into the Invisigal route and narratively punishes you for not unconditionally forgiving her at every turn.

My theory is that the bulk of Stuttering Craig's popularity came from the fact that people had to scroll past his face to see if there was a new Angry Video Game Nerd, and when there wasn't they went, 'well, I GUESS a new Screwattack video's better than nothing...'

Guillermo Del Toro's 'Frankenstein' is a fiasco on so many levels. Most damning of all, his childish reading of the novel and the megalomaniac belief that he could improve on Shelley with some cringe-worthy alterations.

The Absolute imprint must be a massive success for DC because I've seen loads of people who otherwise wouldn't ever bother with superhero comics talking about Martian Manhunter of all characters.

In University we had to propose our dissertations through a presentation, which I was pretty nervous about. What really calmed my nerves, though, was seeing just how fucking awful the first person up was, and instantly realising, 'you know what, I've done a pretty fair job'.

Lots of stories about developers sneaking (operative word there because they're clearly embarrassed) AI art into games. Even if you're 100% on the AI bandwagon - firstly fuck off but secondly - it's undeniable, whatever defence you might have of it, that it inherently bums people out.

Steam is better than Epic for innumerous reasons, one of which I've just realised is, Steam's billionaire CEO doesn't come off like a massive dickhead at every opportunity.

"Why stop at AI use? We could have mandatory disclosures for what shampoo brand the developer uses" — Epic boss Tim Sweeney says Steam should ditch its AI generated content disclosure. https://bit.ly/4a193vt

Using the thumbstick as a mouse cursor.
I don't know if Destiny invented it but I'm fairly certain it's to blame for popularising it.

Generations are fake, invented to sow division and keep you distracted for objectively bullshit reasons.
You want to tell me two people born in 81 and 96 have more in common with with two people born in 96 and 97?
They're playing you for FOOLS darling.

The 6th generation of consoles was the golden age of video game story twists. KOTOR, Silent Hill 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Halo, Second Sight...
It was an age when big-budget video game storytelling was really starting to grow legs and it's hard not to feel like we've gone backwards since.
