BY THE WAY

If you've updated to Windows 11 recently, you're probably on version 25H2.

There's a new setting in Settings: Privacy & Security.

Scroll aaaaaaaalll the way to the bottom and you'll see "Text and Image Generation."

TURN IT OFF.
Here's a gonzo double-feature idea: Alphaville, followed by The Castle of Cagliostro; the theme being, long-running characters being radically and irrevocably reinterpreted by auteur directors.
A big part of my webcomic is just based on things I dislike about the edgy bullshit of Vampire: the Masquerade.

You want me to buy this tosser's name is Effervesenze Dawnstryke when it's clearly Keith?
I don't like it when people say a developer abandoned a game after release.
Surely, that's just called releasing a game?
I'm dying to see a yellow or an orange jacket personally
When they do Lupin the Third part 7, they really need to move away from blue-green. Give him something bright and lurid again!
And it's the same nine or ten smug bellends every time, too.
I hate celebrity editions of shows. 'Hey you know that thing you like? Yeah they're going to be shit this week while not taking it remotely seriously, enjoy!'
The best of the entire genre is Detroit because an entire third of it managed to soar to the staggering heights of 'pretty good'.

You know which third I'm talking about.
I think I blanket hate that whole interactive movie genre; your Quantic Dream games, Until Dawn, Dark Pictures etc. They're aim to be super emotional and immersive but that just translates to controlling terribly, having shit cameras, boundless melodramatic overacting and a deeply boring story.
Whenever there's a group of three men in a David Cage game, it basically writes itself.
The best thing I can say about Beyond is that it was heartwarming seeing the cartoonish crackhead abusive father from Detroit show up as a different cartoonish abuser.
The self-inflicted nightmare is finally over
Wrapping up Beyond! I'm sure this game will have an ending as satisfying as it is coherent. twitch.tv/alastairft

I think the reason writing background is alluring is because it doesn't have to mean anything or go anywhere. Actually writing the story means making decisions and changing things. Easier just to invent twenty more characters instead of do anything with the ones you have.
It's testament to what wasted potential the world of Overwatch is that the furthest point we've seen in the timeline is the opening cutscene of the first game.

weird phenomenon i keep encountering where “writers” correctly identify the soul-sucking danger that large language models pose to their craft, but for some reason have no problem using generative AI to make images. like….are you stupid!!!!
I didn't hear anyone talk about piracy for a decade but now just watching stuff on streaming is so irretrievably fucked up and annoying that piracy is all I hear about.
Elliot Page happens across a Navajo dirt farm where he becomes their white saviour by stopping the evil spirits their stupid ancestors unleashed because they just hated white people too darn much.
This is one of the worst games I've ever played! Wow!
STREAM OUT!
This game... just... God what was David thinking with this one...?
