The thing with car culture is that you create a social model where every human being is, by default, disabled and cannot meet their daily needs without a mobility device. People have a relationship to their car more akin to a wheelchair than to a train. That's a problem.

It constantly amazes me how people WANT this stuff flowing into their houses.
At least eight people were injured and more than a dozen homes were evacuated on Sunday after a house exploded in the Southern California city of Chino Hills, the authorities said. Fire officials said crews stopped a gas leak at the house but they were investigating the cause of the explosion.

She seems great politically, and would be the first woman with a STEM PhD in the Senate. But to be honest, I don’t know if she can beat Sununu. He’s the son of a former governor, and NH is still pretty conservative in the rural areas. I grew up there, and I see lots of trump signs near my parents…

Lewis George's amendment fails on a 9-4 vote. And thus, the D.C. Council just exempted almost all 2-4 unit buildings in the city from TOPA. (Which wasn't initially included in the underlying RENTAL Act.)
