all walkable cities should open construction zones as public obstacle courses and hide loose screws at the top as rewards
pokemon Z-A has given me many opinions about walkable cities and most of them are that you shouldn't have a cute little courtyard surrounded by buildings with only one exit 🙎‍♀️

this kind of smart, walkable, mixed-use urbanism is illegal to build in most american cities
At Yonge & Dundas Jays fans are obeying the pedestrian scramble, as is the custom & returning to sidewalk each light cycle.

"Walkable, dense, urban metropolitan areas are associated with
higher economic activity, with the largest 35 urban metros in the U.S. accounting for 19.1 percent of U.S. GDP despite only making up 1.2 percent of U.S. land and 6.8 percent of the total U.S. population."

the biggest issue with cities that aren't walkable isn't all of the real reasons but actually because whenever i go out in public to do errands i don't feel inclined to put on an outfit because i won't run into anyone i know and anyone i do see is functionally an NPC to me. it's asocial conditioning

I, for one, support demolishing and redeveloping the White house so long as they replace it with a walkable high-density mixed-use neighbourhood

Walkable streets everywhere. Cities are for people.
Every "Christchurch is cool now" article is illustrated with a photo of a pedestrianised street with a tram, meanwhile every local election the discourse is like "rip out the cycle lanes, then turn the botantic gardens into a car park? It's worth a least considering"

Once branded the world's unluckiest city, Christchurch is now the 'capital of cool'
Our second biggest city is experiencing the type of revival that should make the rest of New Zealand envious.

These people are also against walkable cities, housing regulations or anything that would allow a city like this to be built.

*they still won't listen to us intensifies*

I swear if society started listening to trans people like it does everyone else, we'd have flying cars by now and wouldn't need them because we'd have walkable flying cities.

One random thought on driving in London: don’t†

It’s a walkable, relatively accessible city with good public transit.
Some random thoughts based on lots and lots of London driving (something for everyone):
- pedestrians: yes, you have right of way on zebra crossings, but for the love of god don't just lurch out onto the crossing without looking. Drivers aren't superhuman and you're gonna get hit one day. 1/
