art teachers: teach how to draw fatness! i had a teacher who professed that it was better to learn from thin models, and that’s true if you only ever wanna draw thin people, but guess what? fat people are also people and we will never be given the representation we deserve if “too complex” to teach.
Honestly, it's so much harder because nobody bothered to teach us. I've been making my characters fatter over time, and purposely making chubby characters just because it's a skill I want to have and a representation that I believe should exist

I like consuming bad media because you can still learn from it. If you can identify something bad or compare it to something "good" as a creative you can learn what works and what doesn't. Reading a shitty story can make you appreciate a good one more

The secret to "becoming the guy who can recommend a lot of trans work" is to be petty about something by supporting others and I'm NOT even kidding. When someone complains that your work "isn't x" or "isn't y enough" that is YOUR TIME TO PROMOTE SOMEONE ELSE'S WORK WHOLE HEARTEDLY.

the thing about infodumping is that it’s fine sometimes, imo. when readers complain about “infodumping” usually what they mean is “i have no investment in learning this.” but some info is inherently interesting and the most parsimonious way to convey it is to just explain it to the reader
