An absolute honour for Melissa to be featured in the @nytimes.com’s Women in Leadership Special Report this week.

Good infrastructure prevents stuff like this. Sadly, this is Edmonton.
Collision involving the LRT and a semi reported near 75ST & 51AVE. The train had apparently been slightly pushed off the tracks. #yeg #yegtraffic #yegtransit

As Edmonton passes 32 traffic deaths, it's worth looking at the trend. At this rate, we'll hit 36, shattering the all time high.

Vision Zero says 0 traffic deaths by 2032, instead we are on track to hit 66 deaths.

Vision Zero isn't failing, it has already failed.

Edmonton released its Fall 2025 budget. There are some small steps forward for transit & active transportation.

But if you read deeper, the documents tell a much harder truth:
✖️ Failing on climate.
✖️ Failing on mode shift.
✖️ Failing on traffic safety.

This is currently UNFUNDED, and will be up for review in the fall 2025 supplemental budget adjustment.

Email your councilors to make this a reality. #YEGbike

Today, I suggested to a coworker that they winter bike when an opportunity arose naturally in our conversation. It was well received, they asked a lot of questions, and other than some local issues to them with infrastructure, they seemed likely to try.

People want the option and will consider it.

Hey #yegbike, have you ridden the new detour on 103 Ave?

We'd love to hear your thoughts.

We think there are two better options. Read the blog post and consider taking the detour we think is better (102 Ave -> 108 Street -> 103 Ave, bypassing the issues at Railtown Park):
