Funny how when a person is killed in traffic, according to the Post it’s the “car” that did it but when anyone comes along to make streets safer it’s an attack on “drivers.”

Somehow, I'm like this dog, sometimes barking out my various ideas for socially and climate-friendly mobility transformation every minute, just so that the guy (at the Department for Transport) will shout:
‘Rural areas!’
‘Weather!’
or
‘Prohibition culture!’

and ingnores me without ONE own idea.

Walmart and McDonald’s are among the top employers of workers who rely on food stamps.

McDonald's CEO raked in $18.2M last year — over 1,000x the company's median employee pay.

Walmart's CEO pocketed $27.4M — 930x the company's median employee pay.

See the problem?

The most precious commodity you have is your attention. You don’t have to waste it on poor-faith debates or arguments with strangers if you don’t think they’ll be productive. You can prioritize the things that matter to you and make your life richer.

Favorite mic drop of mine.

‘Ms Diehl! You dream of a very colourful unrealistic future!’

‘Of course! Those who stop dreaming and cling to the familiar will live a grey life in a dystopia, covered in dust from days unlived.
I dream in colour because the alternative is not realism, but resignation.’

The greatest paradox: EVERYTHING that has already been caused by the catastrophe and everything that is yet to come will make our lives more difficult, yet those who will feel it last are the ones in (fossil) power and believe themselves to be safe in a security that does not exist for anyone?

This bubble needs to explode.
Now.
"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails."
Analysis: OpenAI is a loss-making machine, how can it survive?
Don't call it a bubble! Loss-making monster OpenAI is on the hook for $1.4 trillion (with a T) in compute commitments. How can this go on?

Everyone needs to be calling out Trump’s extreme racism all of the time.

Mark Kelly: "This president, when he says things like 'third world countries,' what is he really saying? I think what he's saying is he doesn't want brown people in our country. And that's disturbing. It's un-American."

"Shifting politics, intensive lobbying and surging disinformation online have undermined international efforts to respond to the threat."
This is a good article about the relentless onslaught of climate disinformation that distorts US and global politics.

I just wish it acknowledged that disinformation is sticky precisely because it often resonates w the speech of “our side.”

For example…

Last year, less than five per cent of charging stations in Germany were not barrier-free.
This is often because everything has to be removed, as motorists are used to being able to drive anywhere.
Does anyone know if this is barrier-free? I don't think so.

Carsharing App. Autos Fussläufig erreichbar. Das hätt ich gern. Würden viele das wollen, wäre es möglich, an jeder größeren Straßenecke Autos zu teilen. Du kennst meine Angst bzgl Autos, wegen der Kosten. So gehts 10000en Armutsbetroffenen. Und solchen, die es noch nicbt sind, aber nah dran.

According to a study by Fraunhofer ISI, most people consider 150 metres to a charging station to be too far.
Honestly?
Endless screaming.
I can't take it anymore.
Comfort zone, but as destruction.

The mobility transition is a huge justice project that is being blocked by privileged car owners.
