I'm really glad I decided to ask this question at this particular moment, when I'm a week away from locking in and writing my PhD proposal. Informal though this was, I got a lot of insight reading everyone's responses.

So this is something I really want to seek opinions over once I start doing proper PhD research. *Is* there such a thing as the "size community"? What precisely might constitute the concept of "size" that we may or may not commune around? What are we, if not one unified "size community"?
