People applying for asylum are not the "worst of the worst." What DHS is doing is wrong and they know it.

Psst...It is not about public safety...it is about terrorizing communities. On the ground documentation from here and elsewhere is making this abundantly clear.

The purpose of DHS is not to protect people, the purpose is to terrorize people and lie about it
THREAD: Judge Ellis is the first federal judge to review extensive body cam video of DHS's actions in Chicago. She finds that DHS *repeatedly* misled the public and made claims that were disproven by agents' own videos.

I'll go through some of the most egregious ones here.

This is no surprise. Republicans want religious freedom for themselves and subjugation for everyone else.
I'm going to start calling these Alito raids since he's all about religious freedom when it comes to bashing LGBTQ people but not when it's armed gestapo bashing in the doors of churches on Christmas.
"Agencies within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, including ICE, ERO, and CBP intend to implement a comprehensive plan to target Spanish-speaking churches across the country during the upcoming holiday season between Thanksgiving, Nov. 27, and Christmas, Dec. 25."

Sell outs in the worst way
A reminder that as ICE continues their terror campaign across North Carolina, some of their SUVs were provided on a no-compete contract from Hendrick Automotive Group. Spend your money elsewhere. www.wbtv.com/2025/11/17/h...

just say it, reporters, it's not hard: '...the trump administration's open threats to use military force against a state that has not attacked it are widely seen by experts as illegal under international law...' there is very little to debate about that.

Most Americans agree we need to get money out of politics. If that takes a constitutional amendment, then that's what we have to do. And if that's going to take years, then it's all the more reason to begin pushing now.

100% truth
And we knew this. This wasn't speculation. We studied it, we had the talking points. We trained volunteers to explain this to people. It's not a surprise. Rich people don't flee places with good quality of life when we increase the quality of life. They might try to cheat us, but they don't leave.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

I see the “technically it’s ephebophelia” crowd is out today, so just a reminder that A) this is NOT a case where technically correct is the best kind of correct and B) the minute you say this, the gods dump you in the “irredeemable creeper” basket and wash their hands thoroughly after touching you.

I’m voting no on the continuing resolution that would double healthcare premiums for 20 million Americans, kick 15 million people off Medicaid & allow 50,000 Americans to die unnecessarily every year.

All to give $1 trillion in tax breaks for billionaires.

For years, but especially for the past year, Democrats have been in thrall to the idea that they need to chase an imagined median voter, and adopt that voter’s positions. Mamdani’s victory shows another way: hold principles, and persuade people to share them.
