on monday the regime was going to revoke existing passports. yesterday they were going to allow all already-issued passports to remain valid til expiration. today it’s back to revocation. yet we’re called hysterical or wreckers for criticizing the politicians supporting these policies
Update: The State Department has once again changed the language back to saying transgender people's passports will be valid "until they are invalidated pursuant to federal regulations."

I'm still blown away every week at the quality of the new Ranma 1/2 series. Episode 5 is probably the high point of the season for me so far, turning one of the most lackluster episodes of the original series into one of the best so far. This show will always have a special place in my heart.

I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

Opinion | Jamal Khashoggi: What the Arab world needs most is free expression
The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.

the hardest part about being trans is being forced to accept that your family probably kinda sucks, whereas if you're cis you can likely tolerate only seeing your lead-poisoned uncle a few times a year because "oh he's family". we don't really get the comfort nor convenience of cognitive dissonance.

But if you love yourself, you can love both yourself and the person you love. Your love becomes twofold.
So take care of yourself.

Nothing is a better demonstration of the anti-scientific nature of banning trans women from sports than the fact that the IOC's OWN STUDY found no evidence trans women have any advantage over cis women in sports, but they're planning on going ahead with banning us anyways

Every artist you've ever seen and enjoyed and wanted to be like used references, references for literally everything they've ever done in every work they've ever done

Use references
Always use references. Don't let the goblin in your mind say it's cheating or makes your work less, etc
Apparently the subject of the day on the art side of the internet is how to draw heads at difficult angles, so I’m gonna put it out there that there is absolutely nothing wrong with grabbing a tool like @handyarttool.bsky.social to get super specific references of difficult angles to draw

I've noticed that one thing my transition has robbed me of is my voice in public. It isn't that I'm ignored or anything, but more that I'm terrified to speak. I have a very deep voice and the contrast of that with a muscle femme-ish appearance.. it sucks. I mostly talk quietly with gestures now.

So I switched my shampoo and conditioner around and I've noticed immediate results. My hair is muuuch softer, has a lot more volume and my curls are THRIVING.

I had the biggest, dumbest smile on my face in the shower when I could immediately feel the difference there. The little things go so far

I've never taken time to listen to a lot of the audio on the Voyager records, but I decided to listen to it today. Something about it got to me during the greetings sections and it brought me to tears. The emotions were so strong that I genuinely had to sit down on the ground to process everything.

I love how many nyt journalists have fought so hard for 5 days being like "we aren't terminally corrupted by Epstein and the same forces that worked with him! We're real journalists and not executing an agenda! We're not in bed with pedos!" and then the nyt drops this today lol

When I was an undergrad, one of my close friends was a refugee who had been *tortured* by a fascist military regime a few years earlier, WHILE SHE WAS STILL A CHILD.

The idea that refugees are somehow after a 'golden ticket' is as offensive as it is untrue.

Mahmoud disgusts me.
For Shabana Mahmood to attack some of the most cruelly treated people in the world as having won a "golden ticket" because they manage to get to and claim asylum in Britain is unforgiveable.

A new, far right, low for which I can think of no precedent, by any UK Government.

It’s miserable and sadly very contagious, I’ve seen the TTTT 4chan terminology absolutely explode over to the larger trans culture online. Cyber transmitted brainworm site

This is the number one reason why I'm so aggressively against the usage of 4chan by trans women, because even if you entirely ignore all the bigotry inherent in the site I still see that every woman I've ever met who actively uses 4chan for trans stuff is MISERABLE to a concerning degree
