The question is did a sitting president have a political liability assassinated while in federal custody.

THAT IS THE QUESTION!!!

And I think we all kinda know he did.

(🧵) This thread from a retired journalism professor who helped usher in the era of metajournalism in the 2010s—and has written a book on the relationship between Trump and Epstein as part of his NYT-bestselling Proof Series—explains how to report properly on the Trump-Epstein Scandal.

Here we go.

In the situation room?
Q: "Why are White House officials…meeting with Rep. Boebert in an effort to try to get her to not sign this petition calling for the release of the [Epstein] files?"

Leavitt: "I'm not going to detail conversations that took place in the situation room."

Very excited to see what the Big Distraction will be to the new Epstein drop.

- Eliminating some tariffs?
- Sending troops to a new city?
- Blowing something up?

So many possibilities!

OK real question. We KNOW trump is in the file. What can we expect for accountability?

Dem party leadership pissed it away within a week.

The Five Biggest Takeaways From Election Day 2025 Aren’t At All What You Would Think
Big Democratic victories in New York, New Jersey, Virginia and California are well worth celebrating—but behind the gaudy headlines heralding such wins are darker indicators worth considering as well.

Other huge victories from last night's elections:

-PA Dems defended their 5-2 Supreme Court majority
-GA Dems flipped two GOP-held seats on the state utility commission
-CO approved a ballot measure to fund universal school meals

America's Sleeping Giant has awakened.

THREAD: About last night…Democrats showed they can capitalize on the mess Trump’s made of the economy, his inability to govern, and his prioritizing billionaires over everyone else by focusing on affordability and pocketbook issues.

Last year after the election, I reflected: "When we fight, we win—but sometimes the fight takes awhile."

Last night, we saw Democratic victories across our nation. I am so proud of these enthusiastic, principled, inspirational leaders who will continue to fight for our nation, ideals, and progress.

I'm sorry, but when you lose by 13 points, contesting the election is not really an option. Republicans spent yesterday spreading lies about the election. We will see more of it in the days and weeks ahead as the margin of victory fades from our memory. 2026 will be a real test of our democracy.
A good sign we shouldn't overlook from yesterday's elections: the losing candidates, largely Republicans, seem to have accepted their losses. A nice change from Trump.
