Have questions about TrumpRX, or all the talk about "most favored nation" policies? "Today Explained" by@vox.com has a great rundown:
Why are US medicines so darn expensive?
And can Trump actually do something about it?

Pfizer and now AstraZeneca struck deals with the White House to provide "most-favored nation" pricing in Medicaid. But as USC Schaeffer’s Darius Lakdawalla explains to @cbsnews.com, the effect may be small since Medicaid already gets the “best price” by law.
Trump unveils deal for AstraZeneca to cut Medicaid drug prices and join "TrumpRx" site
Pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca will offer U.S. patients discounted prices for some drugs, President Trump announced Friday, the second major drug company to strike a deal with the administration.

W/today's Trump/AZ deal, sharing my still-relevant earlier @opinion.bloomberg.com column on the Trump/Pfizer drug pricing deal. As @dusetzinas.bsky.social told me then, the details really matter & seems possible we'll never get them--and never know if these deals are mainly good for pharma. 🎁link:
The White House’s Drug Plan Has Some Convenient Blind Spots
There couldn’t be a more pressing or galvanizing topic for Americans than the high cost of prescription drugs. And after months of blustery talk from President Donald Trump about lowering prices and c...

We are excited to share a recently published article in @jhppl.bsky.social which investigates the past, present, and future of @fda.gov reforms. As numerous changes occurring at the agency threaten public trust and scientific rigor, there is still opportunity to reenvision the future (1/3)

Asking a lot of this notebook right now.
New notebook to hopefully fight off feelings of burnout, dread, and apathy. Purchased on a Friday in 2025.

Currently experiencing one year in peer review for an article led by a trainee. It is so unacceptable. Minor revision after 8 months and now crickets.

Going to go buy a new notebook to try to deal with this current state of burnout.

But first we want you to have a period of REALLY unaffordable coverage just so whatever we do feels like a relief?

Lol the Nobels can't even acknowledge women's contribution to discovery. But sure let's acknowledge The Machines.
Headline from an article in Nature this week that states "Prizes must recognize machine contributions to discovery. The future of science will be written by humans and machines together. Awards should reflect that reality."

I mainly want to complain that I have had to see 1,000,000 political ads for the primary and election that I cant vote in. Please vote if you are in district 7! Participation matters.

Want to see a good example of political gerrymandering? My house is the red dot (approximately). People should have representation that reflect their local communities (whatever their politics). Not this mess.

Photo of a Kansas City Chiefs press conference with Andy Reid, Travis Kelce, and Patrick Mahomes. Reid is wearing a gray suit and red tie with a lapel pin. Kelce is wearing a camp-style short-sleeved shirt with a bird print, along with a suede cap, and Mahomes is wearing a white collared shirt, a pink checkered double-breasted vest, and a pale pink tie.

PSA - Canceling AAA coverage is very annoying. If you are successful, you will apparently receive a "Your benefits expire tomorrow" and a "We hate to see you go" pair of emails every day for the rest of your life.

Next year, a lot of folks are going to see their premiums go up $1,000 or more per month because of a Republican policy.

If you start having to pay $1,000 extra every month, what will you stop being able to afford?

This is what Democrats are fighting to stop.
