Put up this window bird feeder for the first time and it is bringing me great joy. Look at that little chickadee!! (Did you know chickadees brains grow by 30% in the winter so they can remember where they've stashed up to 80,000 seeds! 🤯)

Not a top 80s movie for me, but comes to mind as Tim and I just watched it for an assignment he had to do: Steel Magnolias. That scene in the graveyard. Sally Fields was incredible in her portrayal of grief. The absolute whiplash of emotions (And how poorly others respond to grief). Oof, so real.
Fletch
The Sacrifice
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Planes, Trains, & Automobiles
Name your top 4 80s films.

Tim finished building bookshelves for our library/office and we've spent the last couple evenings organizing and filling them up. So satisfying!

Mind you, I didn't discover Sufjan until two years later. But this is still a top album for me. What I actually listened to that year, due to a youth leader's influence, was U2's How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb (and a plethora of CCM albums that we don't need to mention)

Working on the annual federal grant application for wage subsidies for summer workers and this is somewhat depressing. It's a bit ironic that they are focusing on both environmental protection and growing the use of AI in the workplace. 🤦‍♀️

What have you read, listened to, or watched this year that inspired you or helped you think about care for the Earth? I would love to hear your recommendations!

Look at this menu! I'm so excited for this year's Boggy River Brunch Fundraiser on Nov 8. It's a really fun way to get to know A Rocha a bit more and eat delicious waffles in the process. Way more fun than a formal gala.

Ok, but has anybody talked about the fact that a pizza is also a pie?
I love that pie discourse has lasted two nights now.

Visiting Riding Mountain National Park for the first time and it is great, even if the weather isn't so great. We went to see the bison today and they were right beside the road. The babies were even frolicking for us.

I'm considering preaching on Joel 2 which comes up in the RCL at the end of October, so I'm saving this thread for later.
In the 1662 BCP lectionary, the first lesson this morning was Joel 2. A Book of Common Prayer lectionary thread—

Joel 2 is one of the most read OT passages in the 1662 lectionary.
