I'm gonna become a huge proponent of watching literally everything one more time. I appreciate so many art pieces after I look at them a second time.

I think the corollary that a lot of people miss about "write what you know" is that *you have the power to know more things.* Research and talking to people are a central part of writing!

In all honesty, it also really fucking helps that it's not Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, because that naming convention turns my stomach so anxiously I feel cringe just watching the damn thing (yes, I'm still really low on Glass Onion, can you tell?)
I'm gonna be brutally honest with myself, both Knives Out/Glass Onion had a round of overbearing discourse around them that made watching them feel like I was "doing my due diligence" both supporting and being critical of them, whereas I basically had one trailer for WUDM and went in just to watch.
I came out of Wake Up Dead Man higher on the overall film than I did with either Knives Out, or Glass Onion. I've only ever watched these movies once and it feels like I'm due a full sit down with all three once WUDM gets on Netflix.

Now ask Tarantino to actually name the author of Battle Royale.
Quentin Tarantino bashes ‘The Hunger Games’ for “ripping off” ‘Battle Royale’ on Bret Easton Ellis’ podcast:

“I do not understand how the Japanese writer didn’t sue Suzanne Collins for every f***ing thing she owns.”

My aunt and uncle ditched cable and just have a Roku TV now, but they don't have Peacock which means our only option to watch the parade is a live feed of raw footage from a local Fox affiliate.

"hey, you haven't done this job in this state across the country for ten years now, do you need to keep seeing the name of that work contact you used to talk to weekly and now has no reason to be here?"
I just went thru my contacts and deleted basically any name i didn't recognize and also anyone who I haven't spoken to in a decade and now my phone is lighter. I genuinely feel like it was really weighing on me seeing a bunch of names of people that I just don't talk to, for totally basic reasons.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: a Dem administration would never abolish ICE, especially if they can say it was "just bad recruiting " yes, it's horrific what's happening now, but also Dems are fine doing the same thing as long as it's acceptable so it doesn't get social media coverage.
eric swalwell said on msnow that a major goal of a dem majority after the midterms would be for ice masks to come off and badges to come out, this is insufficient

I usually don't have to say this but incredibly embarrassed by the Reps from RI today, @amo.house.gov and @sethmagaziner.bsky.social putting their names to a needless vote against what amounts to difference of opinion for how to take care of the marginalized in this country. Absolute shame.

Here's the immediate flaw in Dispatch's presumed love triangle: every close woman friendship ive ever had has been exactly like Robert and Blonde Blazer, and every woman friend I've ever fallen head-over-heels in unrequited love with has been Invisigirl.

And the opening of EP 2 only makes him more of a sweet man.
Incredible character work from the first episode of Dispatch. Huge fan of Robert being so clearly on a down slope and still responding positively to help. Just not a cynical boy.
