queerness, for my obvious example, has often been relegated to the sidelines or subtext or personal interpretation in popular fiction so that conservative audiences can ignore it, so it's often a breath of fresh air for me when a story is very blunt about its queerness in a way nobody can miss

thought that new yorker article on "the new literalism plaguing today's movies" might have a point until i got to the end and the author's example of a film with subtlety was conclave, where they literally have characters explain the thesis and the parallels with US politics out loud in the dialogue

Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

My phone actually AVOIDS capitalizing "i" and sometimes I'll need to edit an entire paragraph after the fact because I'll manually type in a difficult word and it'll change it.
My going theory is that this is modern AI.
