“Structural ignorance.” Yes.
Public health depends on citizens accepting scientifically-grounded guidance. When official institutions produce politically-determined science and independent verification infrastructure is eliminated, the capacity for evidence-based health policy collapses, writes Renée DiResta.

We're witnessing the simultaneous capture of knowledge-producing institutions and the elimination of independent verification mechanisms, writes Renée DiResta.

BREAKING

President Trump has granted a pardon to a slew of Trump world figures, including Rudy Giuliani, Mark Meadows, and Sidney Powell, for their efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

Im sure well be hearing a lot more about this, especially as a kind of noise if/when Epstein files are made public. Of course there was no reason whatsoever to investigate Russian connections…

For how long?

Medications also?

This is the “concept” of a healthcare plan Trump cooked up on the 11th hole sand trap?

One big lesson from Mamdani's victory:
Don't be afraid of billionaires. Make billionaires afraid of you. Take them on, don't back down.

Billionaires from Musk on down used all their tricks and failed.

Democrats are trained to lust after billionaire money, but courage has tremendous value.

History has taught us that this is precisely when Donald Trump is most dangerous — and when Republicans turn to voter suppression, election subversion and worse. With the 2026 midterm elections less than a year away, Trump is already plotting his next moves.

Here’s what we all need to prepare for.

DHS confirmed it has stopped automatically storing officials' text messages.

Instead, officials are supposed to take a screenshot, send that to their work email, download it onto their work computer and run a text-recognition program on it. Every time.

Holy crap. MAGA diehard Danielle Jurinsky lost her city council seat in Aurora, Colorado. She more than anyone is responsible for ginning up the false claim that Tren de Aragua had "taken over" the city. She also repeatedly tried to dissolve the city's groundbreaking public defender office.
Progressives may flip Aurora council as voters reject Danielle Jurinsky and other incumbents
Jurinsky built ties with Trump during the 2024 campaign when he falsely claimed Aurora was being “taken over” by a Venezuelan prison gang.

The New York Times quickly sending out Douthat to argue that Mamdani’s victory doesn’t really matter is so predictable it borders on self-parody.

Remember, folks: Every time the Right wins an election, it’s an undeniable expression of the will of the people. If a lefty wins, it’s just a blip.
