What’s the worst question someone can ask after you tell them your profession? For linguists, it’s definitely “how many languages do you speak?”, but I’m curious what else is happening to the rest of y’all out there?!

There are a ton of spambot/scammer comments going around on AO3 (and elsewhere). If you get spurious accusations of using AI/generally being evil, or someone vaguely proposing a collaboration of some kind, or an odd-sounding fan art offer, check around to see if it's scam. Then report!
AO3 authors: If you get a spambot comment on a story, AO3 has a specific reporting path that lets them get rid of your spammer in hours rather than weeks. Turns out that following these steps REALLY WORKS.

all I can say is I'm glad I'm no longer teaching, because all the problems that existed before (affecting students, faculty, adjunct faculty, staff, and everyone else) are still there but worse, and there are SO many new problems. And diminishing support at every level. Nobody is OK.
