I had to buy a replacement pen recently. The box arrived with a hand-written note and three sherbet lemons. This is the kind of customer service that should be standard 👌🏻

Find of the day (by pure chance - I went in for all of 6mins when I was waiting on the bus) - the works of David Roberts. Large format. A steal at €20 in Oxfam #Books, Parliament St, #Dublin

Anybody know of a place in #Dublin that would repair an electric blanket? The controls are gone and would rather get it fixed than throw it out … 🥶

RIP Diane Keaton
My favourite picture of her where everyone else is giving it their best Blue Steel & she looks like she’s just wandered in off the street looking super cool.
She was allowed to wear her own clothes & her wonderful personality shines out.
What a unique talent & human being.

“Ulysses” by Tennyson (a nineteenth century poem, but focuses on ageing) - just a thought 🤷🏻‍♂️

Israel has just arrested Greta Thunberg and many others.

Statement from the Global Sumud Flotilla:

“People of conscience have been abducted. The flotilla broke no laws. What is illegal is Israel’s genocide, Israel’s illegal blockade of Gaza, and Israel’s use of starvation as a weapon.”

Close to 65k watching the livefeed from the Global Sumud Flotilla off the coast of Gaza.

Israel seems to be intercepting right now.

All eyes needed.

Fun fact, to me anyway 🤓

Averil Deverell came of age pre-independence, being “presented” to George V in St Patrick’s Hall, Dublin Castle, in 1911.

The first woman to practice at the Bar in Ireland, she did so … from St Patrick’s Hall, which served as the Law Library from 1923-31 #History #Heritage

'Women shall be admitted on precisely the same terms as men.’ (King's Inns, January 1920)

On 23 December 1919 the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act was passed, allowing women admission to the legal and other professions.

Following the destruction of the Four Courts in June 1922, the State Apartments at Dublin Castle were fitted up as a temporary legal home.

What must Deverell have thought entering St Patrick’s Hall that 2nd time? From debutante to barrister in less than a decade.
