Heartbroken that, per his social media accounts, Drew Struzan has left us. His poster and album art was quite simply shorthand for imagination for countless young people.
E.T. Adventure poster, 1990. I still have one of these hanging in my childhood bedroom. Star Wars Special edition triptych, 1997. I remember seeing all of these in the paper as each film was re-released and just felt a burst of energy those mornings. Hook poster, 1991 Back to the Future poster, 1985

Please guess the year.

Had reason to go through my old photos from uni, and would you care to see one of the most period-piece photos of the time?
Sat on a wooden pallet, a dreamcast, ps2, wii and 360 are lit by the glow of two of the four CRT TVs in a big stack. Peripherals and games are scattered on the floor in front of them. A poster of master chief looks over the TVs, admiring the ugliest curtains you've ever seen

You know what Tesco I don’t think 1pm is the time to fill the sandwich aisle with boxes of stock and start slowly refilling the shelves.

Jon Bernthal had got a better face for the Punisher, and it helps that the things he was Frank in weren’t kinda bum.

I should watch the Netflix series actually. I do like the Punisher.

Celebrity Traitors sounds like a TV show from V from Vendetta

The problem with computer jobs is that it's all in your head. You can't touch or eat the code you write, it's too abstract. You need to find something to make with your hands if you want to stay okay

This whole thread explains for non-Catholics the rhetorical impact of the most recent action, but this is the crux (so to speak) of the message being sent:
rahaeli.bsky.social
For any Catholic, the sight of a Eucharistic Procession being turned away at the gates of the destination is the embodiment of Jesus being denied entrance. You don't have to be Catholic to get the symbolism in that!

Dear James Workshop,

Shazam for smells. Is this anything?

🤔 this is one to ponder on. I’m not great at luxury consumables…

Backpacking gear is one that I’m torn on because I have a very long list but I’m also not set up for winter camping at all and I like to play with my toys over Christmas

I did get a blacksmithing course a couple of years back and that kicked ass, thanks for the prompt!

Thinking about how Christmas is coming up. Can anyone who knows me recommend things in the fifty-ish quid bracket I can ask relatives for? Not minis or vouchers, frustratingly.

I am very bad at thinking of what I’d like to be gifted.

Watching Alien Covenant because I realised I’d never done so before and, despite knowing it was bad I’m still impressed; it’s really quite dire.

The granular step by step menu selection system Nando's uses is their finest international export, though it caused some trouble for their first restaurant in France, when a complex Wallace and Gromit machine was constructed there due to confusion over what constitutes an "intricate poulet system"

Feel like this is profiling Old World fans quite heavily.

It’s like Batman’s origin story “Yes father, I shall become an Empire player”
A screenshot of the warhammer fantasy Lexicanum article on Mallus, the shard of the old world that came to AOS.

Every paragraph is punctuated by a banner advert for November reading GROW A MOUSTACHE.
