This has been my philosophy for some time now. Don't feed the outrage machine. Don't repost things if you didn't value them enough to read them yourself. Don't argue with what are likely bots or fake accounts in the comments. Go read a book or make a cup of tea or look out the window awhile instead.
The most precious commodity you have is your attention. You don’t have to waste it on poor-faith debates or arguments with strangers if you don’t think they’ll be productive. You can prioritize the things that matter to you and make your life richer.

Really annoyed by the proliferation of accounts on here habitually not using alt text, including institutional and political accounts that really should be. It’s so easy to do - if you care about accessibility, please use alt text when posting images.

Adult me: people are all unique, with their own struggles and triumphs we can know nothing about and deserve our respect if not our admiration

Gotta repost this because I keep coming back to it and laughing all over again
And, as long as we're talking Wendy's, there's no better place to share this promo pic of Arnold Schwarzenegger at a Wendy's in 1979, where he looks like someone hit Nardwuar with Gamma rays!

WAKE UP DEAD MAN is very fun! Stellar performances across the board. I enjoyed the Emagine theater, too.

Walking in South Minneapolis is a nightmare right now. Far too many homeowners seem to have decided shoveling wasn't a priority and now the sidewalks have long stretches of solid ice. Add two excited snow dogs to the mix and your humble narrator was quite imperiled.

(Likely) unpopular opinion: I am instantly turned off when improvisational comedians copy a joke over and over because the first instance of it got a big, genuine laugh. It's lazy and suffers from exponentially diminishing returns. It's been happening so often on Make Some Noise, and it bums me out.

I'm genuinely so sad to hear this, I loved picking up Southside Pride every month.
well the news is public now, southside pride is done at the end of this year and december will be the last issue. i like their work, especially the weird photoshops, and this is a loss for the city to lose one of our community newspapers

I've said before that I will not support any politician that does not protect trans rights.

If that protection comes alloyed with "it's ok to bomb -those- people" that support is retracted.

The whole point is we don't get to decide whose lives are or are not important.

We all burn together.
