THIS. Frustration tolerance is the key to getting good at anything at all, not just art. Socials media makes it so easy to compare yourself to others, but you just have to ignore that and have fun with your little drawings. Do it enough and you'll eventually get better through trial and error.
Being unable to tolerate frustration + chasing social media clout gotta be a big reason why ppl jumped on the gen ai machine to churn out slop

lrp and this is just my personal preference but i think the homogenization of video game graphics is so depressing. Because everyone is placing an importance on photorealism we're losing the DESIGN aspect. Why is photorealism the "best look"? Is it even best? Should you have chosen it? eh.

I wish there wasn't so much of a focus on graphics in video games. It's fine if they're important to you, but when you overlook genuine gameplay criticism in favor of "these assets aren't detailed enough for me" I kind of don't care?? I've seen this for a lot of games, and I just don't get it

listen. listen to me. libraries are getting indie TTRPGs in circulation. high school teachers are bringing weird stuff to the teenz TTRPG club. we continue to be in a beautiful moment for showing more people the full breadth of what games can be. nurture it by playing & loving games!!! a gift!!!!!
