I am reminded of the primal Alexander in Final Fantasy XIV, who by looking into possible futures, quickly realized that its continued existence was guaranteed to doom the whole planet, and orchestrated a series of events leading to it being paradox'd OUT of existence.
Every time a tech entrepreneur says “we don’t need to stop global warming because AI will” I want to slap them with a fish that says, “if a superhuman intelligence came into being and we asked it how to stop global warming, it would say ‘stop burning fossil fuels, you fools.’”
I’m going to regret asking this, but… what mechanism are people proposing whereby AI will “end scarcity”?

So a project I've been thinking of investing some effort into lately is building a non-Fanatical(tm) wiki for Final Fantasy as a series, with an emphasis on being able to track how concepts within the series have changed over time. (i.e. this is how goblins looked in FF1 vs 16)
