"The White House isn't sure whether Trump actually had a phone call or just imagined it" is where we are on the dementia scale now.
An amazing new Trump controversy, Part II of II:

- Saturday afternoon: Trump says he spoke to Bolsonaro the night before and planned to see him “in the very near future”

- Monday afternoon: The Trump White House isn’t sure whether Trump actually had the conversation he referenced two days earlier
White House hedges on Trump’s curious claim about his call with Brazil’s Bolsonaro White House hedges on Trump’s curious claim about his call with Brazil’s Jair Bolsonaro
Did the Republican president talk to Bolsonaro as the Brazilian plotted to escape? Trump said yes, but the White House isn’t so sure.

Oh sure, go ahead liberals, dunk on “Southern Redneck MAGA Mama” just because they have “White, Christian, American and Proud” in their bio and also happen to be a 17yo from Kenya tweeting 239 times a day about American politics but actually you’re just being racist against hardworking immigrants

Not sure how strict they are on "Grand Rapids," but I definitely submitted a few names of places in the suburbs or not in the City itself.

West Michigan Hot Takes:
-Grand Haven is overrated
-Grand Rapids is underrated
-Muskegon is exactly rated where it's supposed to be
-Holland is cool but with no culture
-All my homies that went to GVSU or Ferris still hang out with their high school clique. Even GRCC breaks up "the bubble" a little

It's always a weird one reading the Reddit job hunting advice boards and seeing how much AI is recommended for job hunting - the justification is "the companies use it, so AI is the only way to beat ATS-type programs and get that interview"
Is AI making job recruitment less meritocratic? We're getting some v interesting research studies on this question now, and the news is... not good. @jburnmurdoch.ft.com & I dive in, in the latest edition of our newsletter The AI Shift www.ft.com/content/e5b7...

Pretty sure this is the same Dr. Mihalopolous that taught at Northern Michigan University while I was an undergrad there...how many guys named Bill Mihaloplous are there on earth who are doctors of Eastern Asia studies? What an unexpected discovery to find his writings on BlueSky!
"What was at Stake in the Maria Luz Incident"?

In this new blog Bill Mihalopolous, explores the key points about the context and ramifications of the court case made in his recent article for the journal, and considers it's resonance into the 21st Century

Heh, I've blogged about this too. After getting in a heated argument with a Discord server, I wrote a diatribe about how art (including cartoons/TV shows) were made in a specific societal context, and how we can learn from what the creator(s) were trying to tell us in the future.
Still rocks me that Looney Tunes did a better job of handling this history than 99% of politicians, textbooks, and media

"Mad Men" wasn't a period piece about how the world was profoundly different just a few decades ago. It was the story of how a bunch of guys in one tiny corner of NY created the US culture of consumption and greed by convincing ordinary people that material possessions are the key to happiness.

In the Josh Gracin song, "Favorite State Of Mind," there's a multitude of voices emphasizing the point of each state he lists in the chorus of the song. I've been listening to this song for 20 years and have seen the dude in concert, and only *just* noticed this while listening to Spotify this week

The American Experiment, ladies and gentlmen.
800+ flights cancelled today because Elon took a chainsaw to the federal government and Trump won’t pay the remaining airport personnel.

Elon’s on his way to becoming a trillionaire.

Trump’s net worth has more than doubled inside a year.

Glad everything worked out for them.

How about you?

My "favorite" tidbit about Zuckerberg is that his wealth alone shifted the median net worth for the whole Millennial generation higher than it would've been otherwise. Remove the outlier (Zuck) and the median net worth normalized for persons born between 1981 and 1996.

Nancy Pelosi should be in jail for insider trading. Prosecute Bill Clinton for any and all sex crimes. Dick Cheney, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama were all war criminals. Trump should've been impeached and removed on day 1 of his first term under the anti-emoluments clause.
