Why am I so against generative AI in games?
Because I simply do not want my initial reaction to art to be one of suspicion and scrutiny, AI slop is fundamentally damaging my relationship to art and artistry, and I am deeply resentful that it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed.

my personal bugbear is that you can’t file the FAFSA w/o the participation of your parents/legal guardians until you are 24. you have to have been emancipated, or go through a process to prove they are abusive etc. higher ed is inaccessible to many adults because they are still treated as children
im thinking about the parental estrangement forums and shit and it feels like such a natural thing to come from a culture that doesn't see children as full human beings with agency, to extend the status of problem child past the age of majority and allow publishing and media to be complicit in abuse

The fact that it at least anecdotally seems to be a semi-regular practice to tell white people a minority got the job in order to soften the blow of rejection really should put the elite woke panic into perspective.

Problem is this perception of 'state of the art' tech.
It's old tech disguised as new tech. A bastard child of machine learning and an IRC chatbot trained to map a text string to a response or arrange a pixel.
A human producing the same output consumes way less water and resources but takes time.

"we USE ai, but our game wont CONTAIN it" is a clarification that no one has ever cared about & now CEOs are using it as a wedge to get their foot in the door as a part of a long term plan into normalizing AI, just like how 'it's just placeholder' was used with E33. dont cede even an inch of ground
