I worked with Del for a summer at Sainte-Marie as a teenager. Sad to hear about his health issues, but greatly impressed by his attitude in dealing with them.
He lost both of his feet to sepsis — but he was determined that he would walk out of the hospital.

Totally worth the three-decade wait! Don’t get me wrong — it’s not going to win any Oscars. But it effectively captures most of what made The Long Walk one of my fave @stephenking.bsky.social stories. The dialogue is outstanding, and the slowly building sense of dread is excruciating. 8/10.
