Proud to join 2SLGBTQI+ activists like @faejohnstone.bsky.social at the Parliamentary Reception last night.

As an associate member of the Canadian Pride Caucus, I am committed to using my voice as a parliamentarian and ally to defend and protect 2SLGBTQI+ rights in Canada and around the world.
Ottawa Trans March is happening on August 22nd at 6pm! I'll see you there!!!
This is a critical opportunity for our new PM to show his commitment to gender equality and 2SLGBTQIA+ rights: by pledging new funds in the upcoming federal budget.

Help make it happen: www.momentumcanada.net/cuts
Local women's organizations and local 🏳️‍🌈 organizations across Canada rely on WAGE funding to advance their work and support the communities they serve.

Now is the time to lean in and bolster our commitment to gender equality. Not to cut vital funding.
This reduction is a result of multiple multi-year past commitments coming to an end (I.e. we shouldn't read *too much* into it). But while those funds are sunsetting, the work to advance equality and human rights continues.
If we don't see new investments (like in the upcoming federal budget) in Women and Gender Equality Canada, the department will see an 80% budget reduction by 2027-2028.

Cuts will jeopardize 🇨🇦's progress towards gender equality & 🏳️‍🌈 rights.

I'm listening to Ezra Klein podcast ft Sarah Mcbride and I would encourage all my trans activist pals to give it a listen too.

Feel how you want about either of them. But there are some nuggets of wisdom I think we must hear.

Me: I need a new tattoo. That'll ~fix me~>

Also me: unable to make decisions about what tattoos I WANT.
Elect Women, Oust Bigots! Very cool to have met Premier Susan Holt of New Brunswick today.

Shared my gratitude for her support of trans youth and their families, and spoke with her team about opportunities for further action and leadership on 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ issues!
I dislike the genderbread less, but I think both are rather overwhelming as tools. They're both overly simplistic and complicated at the same time. I also still find it... infantilizing.

Fantastic!

Alt: The Manitoba Legislature has passed Bill 43, adding Gender Expression to the provincial Human Rights Code.
This victory strengthens human rights and will create a safer Manitoba for all.

In this doom and gloom climate, it's important to mark victories like this, to remember that despite the rise of the far right, we can still organize and win for 🏳️‍🌈 people.
GUESS WHO JUST ACCEPTED AN OFFER ON HER HOUSE!!!! ME! ITS ME!!!

End of my homeowner era and I am SO HAPPY ABOUT IT (weird I know).

What's next? Who TF knows! But I am feeling FREEEEEE.
Okay gays who educate the heteros: We've retired the gender unicorn. Right?!?! Please?!?!? I hate it. I hate every variation on it. It's infantilizing. It's cringe. It's also ineffective.
