“we failed a veteran” is the ultimate story here and if I were a soldier currently being asked to do war crimes on Trump’s behalf I would consider this instructive
Suspect in National Guard attack struggled with 'dark isolation' as community raised concerns
Emails obtained by the Associated Press show that the Afghan man accused of shooting two National Guard members near the White House had been unraveling for years.

I saw a thread here the other day arguing that Trump is secretly working to help the Sinaloa Cartel.

I'm not sure I buy Trump being all-in on one cartel (as opposed to selling pardons to whoever can pay).

But wouldn't it be funny if the Trump admin were ACTUALLY doing a Sicario?

Invoking "color revolutions" as a boogeyman like this really goes to show how much these guys have cooked their brains on Russian propaganda specifically.
Sen. Eric Schmitt: "This is the language of a color revolution where you're calling on military men and women to disobey orders."

the jeff bezos owned washington post is the outlet responsible for making sure the primary complaint about AI was water. this may have been in part because jeff knew it was bullshit, so when amzn gets blowback they can easily prove their water footprint is small
not to be conspiratorial but the outlet that successfully pushed this line and made it the primary complaint was wapo

it's like calling someone a "n-word love", or saying they're "woke". The fact that it's so normalized is pretty much entirely the fault of the lost cause narrative taught for decades in US textbooks.

just want to add that "carpetbagger" is a white supremacist slur; it was directed first at northerners who left home to try to help build a multi-racial south. 1

Hey Dean, I know you don't really think this but it sounds like you're comparing people moving to your city to an invasion, and well certain other people talk about immigration in those terms, I am sure you don't want to be in their company.

A reminder for those who are not aware: "remigration" is the process of deporting all non-white people from a country. It includes citizens and is, by definition, ethnic cleansing.

And to be clear: this is not fake. I just screenshot it myself.

This is one advantage of having the historical memory of authoritarianism, as I have from Brazil: you know that, when the regime is gone, the people who collaborated and acquiesced look terrible in retrospect. It may look reasonable and justifiable now, but believe me, it will age like milk.

Look, every single “deal” reached by a university with the Trump administration is a moral stain that will be seen with deep embarrassment once we’re through this. But for Northwestern to do this now, when the administration is visibly weakened, is even more shameful and inexcusable.

Dimon on why JPMorgan Chase is not funding WH Ballroom:
We have an issue, which is anything we do, since we do a lot of contracts with governments here and around the world, we have to be very careful how anything is perceived, and also how the next DOJ is going to deal with it.

a few candidates have talked about this but any Dem planning to run in 2028 should make it explicit: the next DOJ will, in fact, go after you if you’re funding this awful ballroom, or any other pay to play deals you make with this administration

Neither is particularly likely compared to "this guy was cracked by trauma and then told he or some of his friends were going to be deported, and he broke"
What's more logical?

That the CIA directed one of its assets to perform the perfect false flag?

Or

That a jihadist played the long game by working with the CIA in Afghanistan to gain legal access to the country and then travel 3,000 miles to enact his plan of attacking National Guard soldiers?

If Trump proactively pardons Hegseth, the solution is to signal either to the ICC or the country of origin of the murdered men that we will honor extradition requests on this point.

And then, in something of an irony, Noem him out of the country before anyone can react.
Historical precedent of note...
