There are numerous reasons why hard-right/borderline fascist/actual fascist parties would want to remove human rights - but the thing that unifies them all could well be that there are no circumstances under which a country which is outside the ECHR would *ever* be considered for EU membership.

Scottish Democracy in the face of Unionist Autocracy.
It is a distinct possibility whatever the mandate at the Scottish Parliament Election the Unionist Establishment will veto it with a relish. The more robust and condescending the veto the better it will go down with the English electorate.
