Best description I can make of Bluesky is that it is a Twitter analog divided nigh evenly between joyless people that cannot take anything without dreadfully grave seriousness, and people who are incapable of taking anything seriously.

I suppose it is fair to say that the average American worker doesn't make enough to afford that sort of thing.

But that's honestly the most irritating thing about the Average American: they want more money, they want their bosses to make less... but insist the free market will offer that solution.

Well, for example, gravity is gravity. Any advanced alien civilization would have AN equation for it. It likely wouldn't look ANYTHING like ours if for no reason than it would be a completely different language and notation... but it'd be calculating the same thing.

As a white man, I am occasionally met with the reality that there are some places (especially online) that simply aren't for me.

This game where our media gobbles up the Trump Administration's framing uncritically, then "retracts" it once evidence emerges but with weasel words attached to soften the lies, should tell you whose side our media is on.

Depressingly, our "public media" isn't any better on that score.
