Oregon’s pertussis cases have hit 1,475 this year — a record since 1950. Adults get a loud, barking cough, but infants may just silently stop breathing. It's a nightmare for new parents. Thing is, there's a vaccine and this never needs to destroy another family

Vaccination rates for key groups, like pregnant women and school age children, have fallen a few percentage points. But state health officials say several other factors added the record number of whoo...

Ex-teacher here. Moved to a basic office job this week. The straw that broke the camel's back was a parent of a 15 year old telling me their well behaved princess would never play up in school. Reader, she stabbed me with a pen so hard I needed stitches.

I knit Cables After Whisky a couple of years ago and I love it, except it pills like an SOB and the sleeves have stretched 3" too long. It was a fun knit so I'm going to do it again with a yarn that I hope holds up. Today 1 ordered 2 different yarns for it, because nothing in my stash was "right".🧶
