I have absolutely zero sympathy for studios intentionally conflating useful tools with LLMs in order to launder the image of LLMs then being surprised those legitimate automation tools are now a PR liability. If you are calling inverse kinematics AI you can't be surprised when people get mad at that
I was wrestling with this all of yesterday based on a producers comments from July + the Larian stuff. It's all about as clear as mud and I'm exhausted.
What has become clear is that unless I'm inside a studio or someones a big dramatic proponent I won't really know one way or another and it's shit

the larian interview that sven vincke linked yesterday to clear his name is clear as mud about pretty important things - they do not elaborate on "we use AI when rapidly prototyping" - but him comparing IK to generative dialogue is a hat trick that leaves me entirely unmoved by his current anger

That's kind of my point. We don't even known what the situation with the AI is with the game *now*. Next time around I imagine they'd either make sure not to use it at any point, or hide it better, both of which you won't know, as long as a producer or someone doesn't tell us.
My thinkings this: i loved E33 but i'm not touching their next game unless i know its AI free, certainly aint buying it at launch and thats money lost for them and saved for me and only their choice to blame.
If devs want to sell slop they gotta be prepared for trust to be lost and sales to dip.
