In Left 4 Dead, the Witch detecting the player is unaffected by the flashlight. Voice lines play that reference this mechanic, it's even shown in the original's trailer, people will swear up and down that it's a thing, but the functionality simply does not exist.

i'll join your party and my stats seem good but my abilities have anti-synergies with the protagonist's default job. also i have so much dialogue between missions that it becomes a chore to go through all my trees, but my romance scenes are at least bizarre and written by an insane person
