I keep seeing posts asking if there are any alternatives to Duolingo for Japanese that don't use AI, and yes there are!!!

you start "JRPGs are usually bad stories" and so I'm over here going "so what made you play this. what drew you in?"

I'm not a quote post person often but there's stuff to unpack here. first one is that "JRPG stories usually aren't very good" isn't really something I'll grant.
But "better" or "worse" aside, what I don't think is that E33 is somehow more inherently respectable as a piece of art within the genre.

Personally I put off playing E33 for a while for the opposite reason you describe: JRPG stories usually just aren’t very good (despite the focus being very much on story). So I was quite pleasantly surprised…blown away, even.
