Thank you to everyone who spoke to me for this piece. Its a harder topic to talk about than you think, scary too for some people.
Always confuses me when people are nostalgic for this kind of shit. Pitchfork cultivated a generation of music listeners who mistook the assertiveness of their own taste for having anything worthwhile to say.
Early 2000’s Pitchfork was just a miserable, loathsome thing
Yeah that’s gone too. It’s a bummer.
Yeah it was The Haunt, RIP. This was the only shot I got from the show.
Major Arcana will always be number one in my heart Foil Deer rips too. Saw them play in Ithaca right around when it dropped and they sounded so good live.

New: Conde Nast fired four employees who were among a group that confronted the company's head of human resources on Wednesday over the decision to fold Teen Vogue into Vogue/recent cuts. Employees who were fired included journalists from the New Yorker, Wired, and Bon Appétit.

Baby girl and her mom are doing great, just an impossible amount of love today.

I’m out on paternity leave, will be back for MinnMax’s Game of the Year debate in mid-December!
Going to hop on this dunking to remind people that Dynasty Warriors Origins came out this year and fucking slapped.
Wild opening paragraph, maybe you shouldn't be the one reviewing a Warriors game then
My social media vice is instagram reels, and it is insane how much just straight hitler worship, not even apologetics, just straight worship, I’ve seen in the comments lately.

I really don't know what it will take for folks to get off Twitter. Now more than ever, just acting like it's "business as usual" pretty much signals that people simply do not care about what happens to minorities.
I hate the Halloween discord notification sound so much.
Really enjoyed this one, folks. Give him a sub too when you check it out. Routinely fresh, attentive perspectives on games.
I found a football pitch in Baby Steps.

I then decided to make an entire video about how it's the best sports game I've played in years. No, seriously!

Hope you enjoy it. Jokey framing aside (or not) I really like how this one came out. If you like it, sharing really helps me out. Cheers!

To kind of go into my hopes and/or dreams for this new coverage program a little bit further, I want to spend time not just covering the new hotness but also a lot of the shit I’ve bought/have gotten access to over the years that I proceeded not to play.
ICYMI: No Escape has launched its content plan for 2026! We’re moving away from covering AAA games and towards bringing you thoughtful coverage of indies of all stripes.

- We’re bringing the magazine back
- We’re starting a podcast
- We’re commissioning more writers

Strike's over. Put me to work, baby.
Charitably assuming my day job strike ends before November does, I’d love to write end of year features on games like Blue Prince, Lost Records, Clair Obscur, Suikoden Remaster, FFT: The Ivalice Chronicles, etc.

So, if you’re an editor planning their retrospective season, please reach out!
