I went to a midnight release of this at the Best Buy at Northgate Mall of all places. Got the collectors edition and also the hardcover of the guide. Hard to believe it was 15 years ago. I had just moved to Seattle. Hadn't figured out anything in my life yet. I was SO EXCITED. Played it all night.
Today marks 15 years since the release of Fallout: New Vegas.

Since 2010, players have explored the Mojave Wasteland where countless Couriers have walked the same road—each carving their own story. Thank you for keeping the spirit of the game alive all these years.

Viva New Vegas. 🎲

I'd never vote for Rand Paul, but on this issue he's absolutely correct. This is a clear and profound distinction. No declaration of war. No evidence of crime. What Trump & our military is doing is mass murder. It's no different than any mass-shooting of innocents – just with bigger (military) guns.
Rand Paul: "When you kill someone, if you're not in a declared war, you really need to know someone's name at least. You have to accuse them of something. You have to present evidence. So all of these people have been blown up without any evidence of a crime."

You know how billionaires end up with severe cognitive deficits as a result of becoming surrounded by yes men who constantly tell them their every idea is genius? What if we made a bot that just does that to everyone. I think that would be a good idea.

notice the general mood of the timeline? how everyone is in a good mood and there’s a lot less misery and dooming? how there’s a lot of “we’re going to beat these assholes”?

anyway that’s why these events are important

I know it's a fool's errand to expect anything from the media but "President posts video of himself dumping diarrhea on America" is an important thing to call attention to for a dozen reasons

🚨 NEWS: Colombian President Gustavo Petro accuses U.S. government officials of murder and violating Colombia’s sovereignty and says the Trump-ordered strike of a boat in the Caribbean killed a fisherman named Alejandro Carranza.

This is what they have now. There are no ideas, only "oh you don't like that? Then I'll do it more." That's the sum total of the right's brain trust now
It is a scandal totally unprecedented in history that the Vice President has shared a video depicting the President as king. It’s an obscene violation of every founding American principle.

And nothing will come of it. It makes me physically sick.

"It never once occurred to me that Venezuela was a forerunner, that the authoritarian playbook Chávez and Maduro were enacting could play out one day in a place like the U.S." But now "every day brings new outrages that either rhyme with what Venezuelans went through or just repeat it outright."
Going Full Venezuela
No Kings day feels eerily familiar to me.

The No Kings March in Chicago is one of the largest gatherings I’ve seen here. Looking down from by the river, the crowd stretches for blocks down Michigan Ave and wraps around Wacker Dr. This video is from a few minutes ago and the end of the protest is nowhere in sight.

Sometimes a game sucks! If I ever met someone who worked on Resident Evil 6, I wouldn't feel compelled to apologize, I'd just buy them a beer and say "Sorry that happened to you".

They'll cast these rallies as "angry" but everyone there is plainly having a great time because it's fun to get together with like-minded people to engage in the oldest American tradition: telling a tyrant to eat shit
Nah, if you're just being honest and not grifting (which you are, obviously), no reason to be worried. Not everyone is gonna like everything, that's what being an artist is about. Like I saw a negative thread about my own stuff earlier I thought was unfair, but thems the breaks.

They joined Bluesky because they can’t live without your attention. They don’t want to govern, they don’t even really want to “win” in a conventional sense, they just want to play online all day owning libs and it drives them crazy when they lose access to your one wild and precious life.

Pretty much every single one of these new government accounts is posting rage bait. It's possible (like 100% guaranteed) they are trying to provoke people here on purpose, so don't fall for it. Blockity block block block.
Gotta block ‘em all!
Here’s the one-stop shopping blocklist to disappear the Trump regime accounts that swarmed Bluesky yesterday.

I wrote this, about how this administration is trying to undo history on multiple fronts. And I must credit @jamellebouie.net, @adamserwer.bsky.social and many others for their work that inspired my own small contribution.

This is hardly a new observation; Katelyn Burns did a piece on this a few days ago ( www.burnsnotice.com/democrats-mu... ). But every day shit like this happens Pritzker is undermining his own position. You can't be outraged at one flavor of state based terror while greenlighting another.
Democrats Must Kill Their Inner Cops
Who needs the National Guard when your state troopers are perfectly willing to crack protester skulls all on their own? Listen, Illinois governor JB Pritzker is not perfect, but he's my guy. Or at le...

This just goes to show that once fascism has completed its function of reasserting the colonial white supremacist norms of our society and trying to build an ethnostate, the liberalism that will come after will only work to serve our techno-capitalist future. Let me put on my Weyland-Yutani outfit.
CA governor Gavin Newsom vetoed both of the major AI bills on his desk that Silicon Valley meaningfully opposed—one making it illegal for bosses to use AI to fire workers with no oversight, one requiring chatbot sellers to ensure their products do not harm children before marketing to them.
Silicon Valley's capture of our political institutions is all but complete
