I find the current debate profoundly frightening. If I want to crack a joke about the hate directed my way, maybe fkn let me, rather than lecture that "by justifying myself I stigmatise other migrants". I wasn't doing anything of the sort. Those ARE my circumstances. Should I make up different ones?
I have never claimed a single benefit in 35 years and have created several jobs. I think I might be doing it wrong.
Never have I seen such a perfect example of Schrödinger's Migrant.

Zia Yusuf, asked whose PIP Reform would cut, talks about "foreign nationals". Less than a minute later, same "foreign nationals" are taking all the jobs and damning British youth to life on PIP.

Yes. Although I may change my habit now we have an induction hob (previously gas)

An artist has installed some coal dust in front of a roll of paper. She encourages people to walk through it to leave footprints.
Suddenly there's a rush!
People taking off their shoes.
Grinning faces.
Bare feet.
There's creative fun to be had! (5)

Disappointed a politician won’t make an extreme and hasty decision in the immediate wake of a shockingly unusual event
Heidi Alexander, the transport secretary, rules out metal detecting arches at stations, pointing out that with the number of stations and entrances to each it's basically impossible. She says that overall, UK trains are a pretty safe place to be.

If anyone lost a bag of books from LRB Bookshop on the Metropolitan Line between Baker St- Watford, I handed it to a cleaner when the train terminated at Watford tube station. And if you have far more followers than me, please share this status. LRB bookshop is not cheap!

Please just let me type in the year I was born. No more scrolling. We don’t have to keep doing this to each other.

Two small humans (5?) are crouched over an air grate in the footpath, waving bubble wands over the outrushing air...
And WHOOOSH.
A giant cloud of bubbles!
Ohh this is fun.
They do it again!
Looking around to see if anyone has noticed their admirable bubbly ingenuity. (3)

🧵Spotted at a Mask Carnivale in Aotearoa New Zealand:

A dreamy young human (7?) is participating in a haka but he's a bit distracted.
But it's okay.
His friend is at his side.
Hip bumping him and reminding him how it goes.
Yes!
He's got it now!
Eyes wide.
Face fierce.
He's in the zone. (1)

The sheer greasy desperation from these bastards that any violent crime is committed by an immigrant so they can continue their grift. Even when they know it isn't true. Foul.
Matt Goodwin attributes a crime that he now knows appears to have been committed by people born in Britain in the early 1990s to "mass uncontrolled immigration"

I've spent my whole 'printshop day' preparing these for shipping, rather than actually playing in my workshop, so it would be really fab if you wanted to buy some of my cards? 😉

It's November so I'm allowed to quietly whisper the word #Christmas, right? Sneaking in between my #Folklore promos I also wanted to point towards a book based on archival research but cosily fictionalised as magical realism - I wrote the book I'd always wanted to read
Saw my last film at the Cambridge Film Festival Victims of Sin

Another excellent film from the Cambridge Film Festival. The Fisherman. Set in Ghana with magical realism touches but so much more #CFF25 #film #Ghana

Going to a Halloween party tomorrow for the first time in years and have no costume. If I take a prescription and some half finished medical notes could I go as an NHS discharge process?

Clearly we need a return to the traditional method of royal succession: strange women lying in ponds distributing swords.
I think we are actually going to get him formally removed from the succession by act of (multiple) parliaments. this would have been such exciting news in 1720
LONDON (AP) — Buckingham Palace says King Charles III will strip Prince Andrew of remaining titles and evict him from royal residence.
Two films today at Cambridge Film Festivak . Pyre this morning which was very slow but moving and Little Amelie this afternoon which was excellent. Tremendous animation and delightful story #CFF25 #film
