I spent a great deal of time tonight trying to install a light kit into our Holiday Main Street Lego set. I'm convinced we got a dud from Briksmax. I was looking forward to light effects on the display. I don't think I will bother with any light kit again.

I don't understand boomer ellipses. In written fiction, ellipses are used to trail off or create suspense. This isn't a newfangled usage, this is the old, standard usage.
