Day seven of #ArtAdventCalendar.

Already a week in! I briefly tried paper cutting a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Here’s one of the scenes I cut out.

How about some pottery today? I love this little cup… the cat was created with layers of slip to build up the form. I’d like to try this technique again but with a slip made of the same clay as the cup, that should prevent the crack that happened during firing.

Fused glass ornament
#fusedglass
Round, 7cm or 2 3/4" in diameter, fused glass ornament made of stripey (pre-made) white and light blue glass. Most of the ornament are thin curved white and blue stripes while bottom has uninterrupted blue section. On top of the stripey glass are three snowflakes made of silver foil arranged in a triangular pattern. Due to chemical reaction with glass, snowflakes are more golden in color and have turned a bit stripey themselves. They have dark golden stripes where they cross stripes of glass that have reacted more strongly with silver.

one of my favorite projects from this year was turning thrifted teacups into magical little woodland gardens☕️♻️
3 small teacups in a row. the one on the left looks to be hand painted by someone and is bright yellow on the outside and light pink on the inside. there are purple dots around the rim that alternates pink, green, & purple lines that goes from the rim to the foot of the cup. the middle one is off white with a simple blue and green floral pattern around the rim. the one on the right is all light yellow and looks to be a small cappuccino or espresso cup my hands holding a hand painted yellow cup. inside is filled with moss of different shades of green. on the top are 3 stained glass pieces: 1 of a mushroom with a pink cap & white stem, another is a snail with a purple conical shell, and the last is a small little green plant sprout. all of the stained glass is finished in black patina my hands holding the cup with the blue and green floral pattern. inside is filled with moss of different shades of green. on the top are 2 stained glass pieces: 1 is a mushroom with a purple cap & cream colored stem, the other is a little snail with a green shell. all of the stained glass is finished in black patina my hands holding the small, light yellow cup. inside is filled with moss of different shades of green. on the top are 2 stained glass pieces: 1 is a cluster of 2 mushrooms that have red caps & white stems. the other is a little snail with a conical orange shell. all of the stained glass is finished in black patina

Traditional Reusche glass paint powder can be mixed with water or oil and used with a dip pen or paintbrush. This was kiln fired and slumped in one go, happily a sucessful test.
