This is a beach scene in which a small black horse with a shaggy mane and forelock is standing, relaxed and clearly asleep, on a beach and next to a grassy sand dune. We can see the water of the North Atlantic Ocean in the background, and the sky is a bit misty, with a gull flying overhead.

#ArtAdventCalendar day 8: “62 Canned Ham" (Sept 2016), reclaimed wool flannel, wool yarn, silk sari ribbon, polyester satin ribbon, and plastic tinsel (from Oilers' cheer pom) hand-hooked on linen. 8 inches square. Tambour hooking in the sky, and stars and signature embroidered.
A hand-hooked square artwork of a 1960s-era aluminum camper-trailer (turquoise and white with shiny chrome trim) at a campground, with lodgepole pine trees and mountains in the background and a starry night sky. Orange and yellow silk sari ribbon forms the flames of a campfire, turquoise silk curtains are in the camper window, black polyester satin ribbon adds tambour-hooked texture in the sky, and silver plastic tinsel was hooked for the chrome trim and embroidered for the mid-century-modern stars in the sky. Sharpie sketch on linen foundation fabric before I started hooking, from a memory of camping in my grandparents’ 1960s aluminum trailer. Originally I was going to put a plastic flamingo where the campfire was, for whimsy.

We are in an arid setting, a dusty flat area with sagebrush in the background with a reddish mountain range rising in the background under a light blue sky. Two black horses are facing off, one with a wide blaze that has an occluded spot (hence his name, Eclipse). They are both a little bit muddy from the water hold.

a pottery wall pocket I made for my brother, featuring an embossed lizard
photo of a circular pottery pocket, with two holes in the back section for hanging on the wall. the back circle is complete and features a texture of grasses and dragonflies is glazed light green. the front that forms the pocket is a half circle with a vine texture glazed mottled brown and green. A green lizard with a diamond scale texture is crawling across the front of the pocket. He is partially camouflaged with the pottery behind him.
