For anyone who didn’t click through yesterday’s video link - here is where I am on the really BIG piece - just finished the 12th 10x10 square and hung it in place - digital mockup on the right. For anyone attending SfN in San Diego come by my booth AON2 to see in person 🥰 #NeuroArt #SciArt #FiberArt

12 10x10 squares hanging (3 across and 4 down) It is the beginning of a huge hand embroidered brain. The frontal lobe is in hues of yellow and orange and mostly complete. The temporal lobe is about half done and in shades of blue. Stitching is all abstract, improvisational with many different stitches and also includes buttons, beads, tatting, trim, felt and mirrors

The 12 completed pieces digitally placed into a digital draft of the whole brain. Each cerebral lobe in a different color. I’m about 40% done with the whole brain

Finished another 10x10 inch square…. so, I’m about 40% done with the really BIG piece. I’m going to bring the partially completed piece to @societyforneuroscience and attempt to hang it as the backdrop to my booth. You’ll find me at the Art of Neuroscience booth AON2 in San Diego in about a month’s time.
