one thing I've been having myself stop and think about a lot lately: if my child self could've known how many Real Live Book Authors she'd consider friends when she grew up, she'd have been SO excited about just that fact alone. Which is to say, we're both proud to know y'all

My book comes out today! It’s sad and funny and a little spooky and a lot mysterious and very weird, and you can buy it wherever fine books are sold in indie stores bookshop.org/p/books/happ...
I'm getting fed a bunch of this content as well. A lot of it feels like a mismatch between the expectations of what they would sell and the reality of what they're selling, which is actually a lot of the publishing experience.
I had a very boomer phone conversation with my dad who is 72 where he was like “things are not good with me” and I was picturing like, a heart attack, and he goes on to tell me about his Achilles tendonitis.
See you at the Twin Cities Book Festival!
Brian said that he got caught between Minneapolis and Indianapolis
I'm hearing that the Kelce brothers mispronounced "Minneapolis" on their podcast, which is confusing because there is a NFL stadium there???
My agent: Do you have any short stories?
Me: I've been waiting my whole life for someone to ask me that question.

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections

its truly remarkable, you have to really take the measure of it and it's almost hard to comprehend it, but the president of the united states is having texas invade illinois and oregon just to make twitter content

this is wild: while Stephen Miller's guy was in Minnesota for his uncle's funeral, somebody was able to see his entire phone and take pictures of his Signal group chats talking about military deployments to Portland, and brought them to the Strib (gift link: www.startribune.com/trump-offici...)
Don't forget that she dated Taylor Lautner

it's funny to me that the people who talk about the criminal mindset, which is not a real thing, are the same people who talk about the success mindset, which is just crime
Unfortunately I think TikTok has made me hate it when people dance

One thing I've learned from the Internet is that a lie needs 0% proof to be believed, but the truth requires thousands of pages of proof and still won't be believed.
That’s not actually the worst idea
The man opened a sushi restaurant and named it Ajian. He should not be allowed near the senate.
I need to apologize. Brian and I invoked this today by recalling how he tweeted about bikes needing to stay on the sidewalk. Also, AJ McCarron blocked me on Twitter, which would make him one of many AL politicians that I had weird interactions with on that website.

I realized when Ronan was a baby that I actually hate going to sleep and it’s hard when you are waking up at minimum three times throughout the night (more like six most of the time). The thing I like is waking up feeling like I’ve slept.
I think I’m doing pretty well postpartum, except I hate the transition from daytime to nighttime. I dread going to sleep and am also so tired feel like I need to sleep immediately.
Truly hate that when an Auburn coach retires, I have to dread what political position he’s going to take
I can tell the economy is bad because my IG inbox is filled with accounts offering to promote my book if I pay them $200.
For myself, I’m just excited to get free books that other people would think I like. I just finished a forthcoming book that was excellent and kept me company during overnight pump sessions.
Little do people know that a lot of times you don’t even get a physical copy of the book. The UK tends to be better about this than the US. In the US, only *special* writers get physical copies usually.
I just saw someone say— with the tone of “everyone knows this to be a fact”— that authors are paid to write blurbs. Do people really believe this? Is everyone else secretly getting $ and I’m just out here professing my love for books for free?
