That’s 59p a story for the dead tree version or less than 15p a story in electrical form!
This might just like a photo of a bird table with peanuts, but today one of our regular jays took a peanut in the shell up to the tree, opened it, then brought the now shelled peanut back because it wasn’t up to standard, and took a fresh one. Fussy gits, these corvids.

Stayed up far too late last night binge watching the first series of Slow Horses, but damn it was worth it. Brilliant characterisation, acting and world building.

I try not to do too many word count posts, but I started the latest draft of my current WIP, and wrote 8,000 words this week over three days which I’m pretty bloody pleased with.

The city is layers of story. Sometimes it is told in occulted stone symbolism, sometimes in street names and haunted hodology. Thousands of narratives with no editor. Thousands of tales seeping into the city's own strange dreams. No wonder it imagines fabulous things. – #CLNolan

Behold, the Sword of Power! Excalibur! For anyone waiting for things from me, this is why: my brain has been consumed by John Boorman and Excalibur, both of them dear to my heart. The restoration is stunning, and finally presents the film in the right aspect ratio on home video... 🧵1/8

Disappointed to find out that when I click on the little van on the DPD tracking website, it doesn't make the horn in the delivery van sound, just makes the noise on the website.

A late medieval pocket sundial from Freiburg. The portable sundial once contained a small compass in the circular recess, helping to align the sundial along the north–south axis so the correct time could be determined.

Darkness In The Fields is always a fantastic dive into the secretive rituals of folk horror. For the upcoming Midwinter edition, I'll be asking a panel of brilliant Blood In The Bricks contributors about their thoughts on the genre and the inspiritation behind their contributions to the anthology.
Looking forward to my final folk horror event of the year with DARKNESS IN THE FIELDS: MIDWINTER 2, and a great line-up of talent joining us for the weekend on 6th and 7th December! www.eventbrite.com/e/darkness-i... #folkhorror #folklore #writing #writers #fiction

I'm taking a brief break from asking what other writers were thinking, to instead wonder what I was thinking. Come along, it'll be an amazing day.
