This one especially pisses me off since
A. Edgar Allen Poe is NOT renowned for a sunny disposition
B. This isn't a Tolkien situation where he actively denied allegory, Poe was very, very vocal about the meaning of his works. Like, this is a very easy to find fact

I'm glad Smiling Friends seems to be losing the "cartoony characters having a realistic conversation" style of gag, I think the weakest episode this season relied a bit too much on it compared to the otherwise nothing but bangers
