Hey let me issue a challenge

If you are shocked about immigration and where we are and why you don’t know

And every pundit you follow is so shocked

Check how often your face pundit cites and actual immigrant

Then ask why that hasn’t changed if their still shocked

Dems floated a narrow bill to fund the military, which can’t move because the House isn’t in session. Meanwhile, DoD is now going to spend funds not appropriated by Congress to ensure military paychecks continue.

POTUS now both commands and provisions the military. Unconstitutional and SO dangerous
The Office of Management and Budget sent a notification to Congress about their intent to use research and development funds to pay members of the military, two sources with direct knowledge tell NBC News.
A spokesperson for the OMB confirmed to NBC
News that it plans to use the research and development funds and that there are two years' worth of funds available within the Department of Defense.

This is very tangential (and about the Episcopal church) but I think the Rev. Brokenleg is SO great and everyone should know her (and the Catholic Church uses this monogram too) that I really want to share this story she told in an interview:

@clairewillett.bsky.social your thread was VERY informative & i appreciate it so much, but:

"if you’re an American Catholic your family were OBVIOUSLY immigrants too"

MANY Indigenous americans are catholic. i just felt like that needed addressing, sorry to bypass the No Quotes!

I have long been of the belief that Francis handpicked this guy and lined up the conclave for him out of recognition that reining in the right wing overreach of the US bishops conference was becoming a global crisis that could only be solved by an American who did NOT come from within the conference

Just wanted to note that right after the clip cuts off the bystander filming asks the man being detained for his name and he shouts it out. The man also said to contact his family. Getting information from the scene is an important way to try to help.
