When I dropped my kid off at school this morning I would guess close to half the kids were wearing some piece of Jays gear and there was an adhoc baseball game happening in the soccer field (which is unprecedented). It's a huge deal to the kids.

The thing that really hits me about last night is the gravity of that game for the younger Blue Jays fans. This is a new generation's Joe Carter "where were you" moment. Decades from now, kids will look back on ALCS Game 7 and relive the glory all over again.

It's stunning that I'll be emotionally devastated if the Jays lose tonight considering I was expecting them to finish 4th in the East and have traded a combo of Scherzer, Bassitt, Straw, Bichette, Schneider, Hoffman or others for "years of control" at the deadline. Expectation management be damned.
